Week Deux written by Roope
Nothing is forever, except the memories we carry
Its a sunday noon. We have this jazz radio channel on our TV that i like to put on just playing in the background while im home, its just really homely to me for some reason and as a musician i really love listening to these songs that arent curated to me plus my phone doesnt just starts playing jazz songs when i turn it on haha.
I have been learning a bit of french along the way, met lots of people, some who also speak english. We even went to Paris yesterday and walked what felt like the distance around the sun, for me atleast. The bikes were really fun to get around the city with some looking and waving to get around cars of course. We saw the Eiffel Tower and took those fun tourist pictures with our jaws practically on the ground from awe. We ate some lunch, i had a tuna pizza, and Marikki had a chicken salad. Bought some clothes at second hand stores. Also next to a public bathroom which i "got to" experience we encountered a Congo and Cuba protest, they were beating on drums and chanting in some language i couldnt understand. Paris was great.
Among the other things here like the french way of life and culture and language, it has been really fun to just learn and be curious about these things...but its only 2 weeks left. I wont live like this back home will i? I probably wont. Is that a negative thing? No. Its an experience and a vacation, thats what it is to me, something memorable and temporary at the same time. You want to know how its going? Its going really well. You want to know how it will go for you? Well i guess you gotta go and see for yourself.
